Parmigiano Reggiano D.O.P. / B.O.B. aged for 12 months is a mild cheese with an aroma of fresh milk and grass. Its pale straw color and low granularity make it perfect with strawberry preserves and balsamic vinegar.
The minimum ripening age required to officially go by the name "Parmigiano Reggiano" is 12 months.

You can enjoy this type of Parmigiano Reggiano as a starter or a snack with a glass of Lambrusco or a glass of dry white wine. Parmigiano Reggiano is naturally lactose-free and is therefore also recommended for children.
